Joseph Marino, MD, is the chief medical officer at Long Island Jewish Valley Stream and oversees the quality and delivery of care provided by the 305-bed hospital.
Previously, Dr. Marino served as chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at Syosset Hospital and LIJ Valley Stream. He currently serves as the director of regional anesthesia for Northwell Health and holds a faculty position as associate professor at the Zucker School of Medicine. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and served as primary author and section editor of many textbooks in the field of regional anesthesia and pain medicine. From 1994-2011, Dr. Marino was the director of acute pain management services and director of the blood conservation program at Huntington Hospital.
Dr. Marino has numerous professional affiliations, including the American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Regional Anesthesia, New York State Society of Anesthesiologists, American Academy of Pain Management, Medical Society of the State of New York and Orthopedic Anesthesia Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Society.
Holding a bachelor’s degree from New York University, Dr. Marino received his medical degree from New York Medical College. He completed his residency in nesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Yale–New Haven Hospital.
