Dr. Kanner oversees the health system’s neurology service line. He is also Chair and Professor of Neurology at the Zucker School of Medicine.

Dr. Kanner established the Pain Service at the Hospital of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and later helped expand the service to include Montefiore Medical Center. He has been published on the subject of pain management, both in cancer and non-cancer patients. 

Dr. Kanner received his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Madrid, Spain. He completed his internship at the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia General Hospital) and his residency in neurology at the Affiliated Hospitals of Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He also completed two years of fellowship in neuro-oncology and pain management at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY.
