A 'walking heart attack' at 38

Jose Fernandez, 38, knew he had a family history of heart disease. But, he didn't know he had two severe blockages in his arteries - one of which was 95 percent and could have caused a heart attack. Luckily, his coworker and close pal Christine encouraged Jose to visit her cardiologist, Dr. Rachel Bond, associate director of the Women's Heart Health Program at Lenox Hill Hospital. She, too, had a family history of heart disease and, in fact, had suffered a heart attack at just 38 years old. Because she recognized Jose's symptoms, Dr. Bond was able to treat Jose in time and prevent a potential heart attack.
