Threshold lowered for high blood pressure

Millions of Americans may now have high blood pressure and not even know it. The threshold for what constitutes high blood pressure has been lowered by ten points as a way to get out ahead of treatment. Dr. Rachel Bond, associate director of women’s heart health at Lenox Hill Hospital, says the change isn't pushing an increase to medication use, but encouraging healthy lifestyle changes.
