Pregnant Women Not at Higher Risk for Cancer Reoccurrence, Study Says

New research reveals promising news for cancer survivors looking to conceive. In a study conducted amongst 1,200 women, pregnant patients in remission were compared to women with the same type of tumor and the same type of treatment. They found the pregnant women were no more likely to have recurrent cancer, as was previously believed. Dr. Keri Peterson, an internist with Lenox Hill Hospital, discusses the study’s outcome and what it means for potential moms.
