New Drug Shows Promise for Depression Treatment

Research reveals that ketamine, the popular “club drug” and hallucinogenic, may actually relieve depression when administered in a low dose. More studies must be done, says Dr. Keri Peterson of Lenox Hill Hospital, but ketamine could change the way we look at and treat depression, especially in those patients who are resistant to today’s antidepressants.
