Life-Saving Surgery for Afghani Boy

Bilal Sharif, a 7-year-old Afghani child, visits with Dr. Moneeer Hanna, the pediatric urologist who performed life-saving surgery. Bilal was born with a very rare condition known as bladder exstrophy. During a four-hour surgery, Dr. Hanna repaired BIlal’s bladder and the abdominal wall---thereby allowing Bilal to be, in his words, “a normal boy.”
