Inside the Hospital Episode: Focus onHealth TV

Every day, five point six million hospital employees go to work and provide vital, life-saving care to the sick, injured and ailing members of our communities. Sometimes, the work done seems to defy human ability and emotion. It’s like the paramedic who remains focused at the sight of a traumatic accident. Or the doctor – in a hectic pediatric emergency room – who maintains a level head when calming a worried parent? And then there’s the nurse manager of a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit – surrounded by tiny newborns, some fighting for life – who puts her job and employees above her own emotions. They put their minds before their hearts so they can think, react and save lives. It seems superhuman – but really it’s all just part of the job. (Inside the Hospital; Season 2, Episode 10. Original Air Date: Saturday, January 3, 2015.)
