Getting Very Large Breasts Could Lead to Reductions Down the Line

A New York plastic surgeon says a news recent report about women seeing plastic surgeons to reduce previously enlarged breasts highlights the need for patients to be aware of the complications from overdoing it when they schedule a breast augmentation. “There are surgeons who are traditionally conservative and rarely do double D breasts who also rarely have to go back and redo those breasts and make them smaller,” said Homayoun Sasson, MD, director of plastic surgery at Franklin Hospital in Valley Stream and Plainview Hospital. “There are women who may not be well-informed of their breast shape. Once they get the implants, then they can have buyer’s remorse, so to speak, and they end up having to have the implant made smaller.”
