Disabled Patient Gets Hip for Holidays With Lenox Hill Hospital's Help

Dean Horowitz says he is the "luckiest man in the world" after getting his left hip replaced for free this week at Lenox Hill Hospital. He qualified for Operation Walk, a non-profit coalition of 85 orthopedic surgeons in 23 states that volunteer to operate on patients who do not qualify for government assistance but cannot afford surgery on their own. He will soon be able to walk pain free for the first time in two years and hopes to once again ride his bicycle.
