Suzie Soto has lost 15 pounds since March thanks to the three inflated balloons inside of her stomach. Obalon is the first FDA-approved weight loss balloon that is swallowed like a pill and inflated by a doctor inside the patient’s stomach. Dr. Anthony Starpoli, associate director of esophageal endotherapy at Lenox Hill Hospital, is Suzie's doctor and the first Manhattan physician to use the new technology.
