Dr. Peter Davies, Dir. Litwin-Zucker Research Center for the Study of Alzheimer’s Disease and Memory Disorders, Feinstein Institute for Medical Research. According to the Alzheimer’s Association, 5.4 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease – 5.2 million aged 65 and over, and 200,000 under the age of 65. By 2050, up to 16 million will have the disease. Dr. Davies discusses why Alzheimer’s is the only cause of death among the top 10 diseases in the US that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed in its progression.
