NEW HYDE PARK -- For the sixth consecutive year, the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York (CCMC) has been ranked among the best children’s hospitals in the nation in US News & World Report's 2012-13 “America’s Best Children’s Hospitals” survey.
CCMC placed among the top 50 hospitals in six different pediatric specialty areas surveyed in the magazine’s annual rankings, specifically: diabetes and endocrinology; neonatalogy; nephrology; neurology and neurosurgery; pulmonology and urology. The hospital was ranked 16th in the nation for pediatric urology, its highest placement in the survey.
The U.S. News Rankings are based on a hospital’s reputation, medical outcomes such as death and infection rates, and care-related indicators such as patient volume, nurse staffing and availability of specialized programs.
