STATEN ISLAND, NY --Measured on its financial viability, reinvestment back into the facility, low cost structure and reasonable charges while providing high quality care, Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH) a hospital of the North Shore-LIJ Health System, was announced a winner of the 2015 Community Value Leadership Award by Cleverley + Associates, a national analytics and consulting service.
“At a time when hospitals are increasingly scrutinized for their involvement and performance in their communities, the Community Value Index was developed as an objective assessment tool by Cleverley + Associates,” according to James Cleverley, president of the Ohio-based firm.
The award is based on the overall value provided by SIUH to the Staten Island community. The hospital achieved Five-Star status for scoring among the top 20 percentile of the nation’s 100 top ranking hospitals in results Cleverley published in the 2015 issue of The State of the Hospital Industry.
“We continually examine our delivery of care to provide the highest quality to the people of Staten Island,” said Donna Proske, SIUH executive director. “This designation reaffirms our commitment to our mission and we are pleased to be recognized as an asset to our community,” she said.
