Robert Glatter, MD Named Spokesman of the Year by the American College of Emergency Physicians

New York, NY – Lenox Hill Hospital, a member of Northwell Health, announced today that The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) presented Robert Glatter, MD,  with its 2016 Spokesperson of the Year Award.  Dr. Glatter was honored for his outstanding efforts to communicate about emergency medicine issues.  The award was presented at ACEP’s Leadership and Advocacy Conference in Washington, D.C. in May.

“Dr. Glatter is not only passionate about caring for patients, but he has a gift at communicating that passion to the general public,” said Jay Kaplan, MD, FACEP, president of ACEP. “He is well-respected by the news media and has demonstrated an unwavering determination to make sure emergency medicine issues are accurately portrayed in the news.”

Dr. Glatter has written regularly in 2015 about emergency medicine-related issues, including how health insurance industry practices are affecting emergency care, and coverage of ACEP’s poll regarding the rise in emergency visits in the year since the implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

He is also a regular contributor to Forbes magazine and has been interviewed on a wide-variety of topics by several national news organizations, including, ABC News, CBS News, MSNBC, WebMD and HealthDay.
