Veterans Report for Northwell Health Resume and Career Workshop

Lyndon Chichester, veteran inclusion specialist for Northwell, addresses veterans at a recent Barracks to Business career workshop.

Armed with resumes, laptops and questions, nearly 50 veterans reported for a Barracks to Business workshop at the Cradle of Aviation Museum on May 11. The free workshop – offered by Northwell Health in collaboration with Nassau and Suffolk counties – aims to help veterans translate their military skills into career success.

Led by Lyndon Chichester, veteran inclusion specialist for Northwell and a U.S. Air Force veteran, the workshop featured a panel discussion with three veterans who are now employees at Northwell, as well as hands-on training in developing a resume. Another workshop is planned for the fall.

In 2016, Northwell hired more than 500 veterans. Veterans can search Northwell Health’s job openings in Long Island, Manhattan, Staten Island and Westchester by using their military occupational specialty code.
