Northwell Health today announced key leadership appointments for its healthcare system.
Jason Naidich, MD, has been appointed senior vice president and executive director of Northwell’s central region, which includes hospitals in Nassau County and Queens. Dr. Naidich held several senior-level positions within Northwell’s Imaging Services, including senior vice president and executive director of imaging services. He also served as chair of radiology at North Shore University Hospital (NSUH) and Long Island Jewish (LIJ) Medical Center and will continue to serve as chair of radiology at the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine.
Dr. Naidich received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College and completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at New York University (NYU) Medical Center. He completed two fellowships – one in vascular and interventional radiology at NYU ─ and the other in magnetic resonance imaging at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School. Dr. Naidich earned his MBA from Yale University.
Dr. Naidich succeeds Chantal Weinhold, who directed Northwell’s central region since 2014. A healthcare executive with 36 years of service at Northwell Health, Ms. Weinhold will move into a new role as senior vice president and organizational senior executive coach, working with Northwell’s chief people officer to identify high-performing leaders through mentoring and executive coaching. Ms. Weinhold served as the health system’s chief compliance officer, deputy executive director at Cohen Children’s Medical Center and executive director at Zucker Hillside Hospital and LIJ Medical Center.
Jesse Chusid, MD, has been appointed senior vice president and executive director of imaging services, and chair of radiology at NSUH and LIJ Medical Center. Prior to his promotion to lead Northwell’s Imaging Services, Dr. Chusid was vice chair of quality and informatics for imaging services. He also has served as an associate medical director at NSUH since 2014.
Dr. Chusid earned his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College and completed a radiology residency at NSUH. He also completed a cardiac and thoracic imaging fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Chusid earned an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
In addition, Cindy Kubala, RN, administrative vice president of Northwell’s Imaging Services, will retire at the end of the year. Previously, Ms. Kubala served as the first executive director of the Center for Advanced Medicine in Lake Success. She and Dr. Naidich dramatically expanded the size and scope of radiology services across the health system, building the region’s largest integrated team of subspecialized radiologists. Imaging Services today provides 24-hour clinical coverage to Northwell’s 15 hospital-based radiology departments and 17 outpatient imaging sites.
Continuing to build on the imaging services strong foundation will be David Seligman, who will succeed Ms. Kubala as administrative vice president of imaging. Mr. Seligman joined the radiology team in April after serving as senior director of system operations. He also spent six years in various administrative roles at Lenox Hill Hospital. Mr. Seligman earned his MBA from Baruch College.
