More than 125 golfers and additional supporters helped raise a record total of over $260,000 at North Shore University Hospital (NSUH) Auxiliary’s 39th Annual Golf Outing held on July 10, 2017 at the North Shore Country Club. Funds raised benefit the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
The event honored Robert Waldbaum, MD, and Steven A. Klar. Dr. Waldbaum serves as a professor of urology at the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine, chairman emeritus of the Department of Urology, vice president of Physician Relations as well as director of outpatient clinics at North Shore University Hospital. Mr. Klar is president of the Klar Organization and founder of the Klar Family Leadership Development and Innovation Management Program at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine. Both guests of honor have demonstrated significant support and generosity toward Northwell Health.
For more than 60 years the NSUH Auxiliary has supported programs and services to foster the growth and evolution of North Shore University Hospital. NSUH Auxiliary Golf Chair, John Bonanno, the Auxiliary Executive Board, the Auxiliary Golf Committee and the Volunteer Department at NSUH helped make the event a tremendous success.
At the event’s evening reception, Lori Ballen, president of the NSUH Auxiliary expressed NSUH Auxiliary’s commitment to helping create miracles in the NICU each day. “We see the photos and read the cards and letters from parents telling the staff how amazing their child is doing. It is so heartwarming and rewarding to be a tiny part of the miracles at North Shore University Hospital’s NICU,” said Ballen.
Sponsors of the event included Signature Sponsor, The Klar Organization; Silver Sponsor, Medtronic and Bronze Sponsors, Northwell Health Cardiovascular Services and Triangle Building Products Corp.
