Jamie Kane, MD, has been named director of the Northwell Health Center for Weight Management.
The Center for Weight Management’s flagship site is at Syosset Hospital, but also has locations in Great Neck and Manhattan.
Dr. Kane is the chief of obesity medicine at Northwell Health. He is board certified in internal medicine by and a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Kane is also an assistant professor at the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine.
Dr. Kane completed his medical education at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine and his residency at Yale – New Haven Hospital.
“The Center for Weight Management is a great addition and complement to the bariatric surgical services at Syosset Hospital,” said Heather McMullen, MD, director of bariatric surgery at Syosset Hospital. “We are thrilled to have Dr. Kane’s expertise leading the Center for Weight Management.”
In addition to the Center for Weight Management, Syosset Hospital also has a MBSAQIP-accredited bariatric surgical center through the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASBMS).
