Southside Hospital’s 20th annual Golf & Tennis Classic raised more than $500,000, a record amount which will go toward the hospital’s creation of a new and expanded campus.
The tennis and golf events were held at Southward Ho in Bay Shore in June. The golf honoree was Richard Racanelli, of Racanelli Construction; the tennis honoree was Robert Curcio, Jr., of Curcio Organization Real Estate Development Co.
“I appreciate everyone who participated in the Golf & Tennis Classic. The funds raised will help us expand the Southside Hospital campus,” said Donna Moravick, NP, executive director of Southside Hospital. “We are constantly looking at ways to provide more services to our community and this new campus will allow us to do that.”
The second phase of construction for the Southside Hospital Bohlsen Family Emergency Department, which includes a clinical decision unit and contained critical care area, is nearly complete and two new cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology labs with a dedicated 17-bed recovery area are slated to open by the end of the year.
Prior to the Southside Hospital Golf & Tennis Classic, there was a cocktail reception on June 6 for Mr. Curcio.
