Just in time for Earth Week 2017, Victory Greens celebrates its fourth growing season atop Lenox Hill Hospital. This urban oasis is New York City’s only hospital-based rooftop garden, and this year it boasts nearly 100 varieties of fruits, vegetables and herbs from across the globe.
Victory Greens is accessible to hospital staff anytime throughout the workday. Visitors can enjoy an outdoor lunch, collect their own herbs at a garden snipping party, or simply take a break amidst the greenery.
“All of the people who come up here step out of a very intense environment to have a breath of fresh air and connect with nature,” says Pam Johnson, project manager of administration and a regular at the garden. “It’s truly changed my life both at work and at home.”
