Golf Outing Supports Long Island Jewish Medical Center

There was no actual golf played – rain kept participants indoors at The Village Club of Sands Point. But more than 80 attendees of the second Swing into Service Invitational, sponsored by the Service Guild of Long Island Jewish Medical Center, helped raise more than $45,000.

For more than 50 years, the Service Guild has worked to enhance the lives of patients, families and the community. In 2016, the Guild awarded more than $65,000 in grants to benefit Long Island Jewish Medical Center programs and services.

“It was great to see how many people pledged their support to LIJ Medical Center,” said Michael H. Goldberg, executive director of the hospital. “The Guild is an integral part of our hospital and serves as goodwill ambassadors to the community,” he said.

The event’s special honoree was Chantal Weinhold, senior vice president and Central Region executive director for Northwell Health. Ms. Weinold was quick to thank the golfers who braved the weather at the recent breakfast and extended her appreciation to all of the golfers and sponsors.
