Glen Cove Hospital has raised $125,000 toward a matching grant worth up to $500,000 that will help its family medicine practice center improve the facility as well as the services offered to the community.
An anonymous donor pledged $1 million for Glen Cove’s family medicine practice along with a matching donation if the hospital, operated by Northwell Health, is able to raise $500,000. Glen Cove Hospital announced it has raised $125,000 so far at a campaign kickoff event on October 27.
Glen Cove Hospital’s family medicine practice is one of the oldest programs in the United States. The family medicine practice offers primary, prenatal and pediatric care as well as behavioral health, sexual health and dental care services. The center sees approximately 13,000 patients a year. Many staff members at the family medicine center are also fluent in Spanish.
In addition to the medical care it provides to the community, this facility has also trained more than 230 board-certified family medicine physicians since its inception.
