In an effort to keep the community in good health this season, Lenox Health Greenwich Village is offering free flu shots to the public throughout October and November.
The flu is a highly contagious respiratory illness that can easily be spread though coughing, sneezing or even a simple handshake. The illness can range from mild to severe and is especially threatening to the elderly, young children and those with weakened immune systems. Serious cases of the flu can result in hospitalization or death. According to an estimate from the CDC, 80,000 Americans died from the flu or flu-related complications during the last flu season.
The best way to protect yourself against the flu is to get vaccinated each year.
Flu shots will be administered at Lenox Health Greenwich Village, located at 30 7th Avenue between West 12 and 13th Streets, on the following dates:
- Wednesday, October 17: 4–7 p.m.
- Monday, October 22: 1–4 p.m.
- Saturday, October 27: 10 a.m.–1 p.m.
- Wednesday, November 7: 4–7 p.m.
- Tuesday, November 13: 4–7 p.m.
- Monday, November 19: 1–4 p.m.
