Fighting the flu, on wheels

It's not too late to get your flu shot! Reporter Jeff Rossen and Dr. Elan Levy in front of the "Flu Mobile"

With 13.3 million documented cases nationwide, this year’s flu proves especially dangerous, experts say. That’s why Northwell Health teamed up with the TODAY Show to offer flu shots to anyone still in need of one. Northwell parked its mobile health van, dubbed the "Flu Mobile," outside of its emergency department, allowing passersby to stop in for this season's vaccine.

Dr. Elan Levy, associate director of the emergency department at Lenox Health Greenwich Village, stresses that it’s not too late to get your flu vaccine. Dr. Levy explains how the flu shot may not only protect people from catching the virus, but may also reduce flu-related complications and shorten hospital stays for those who are already ill.
