Family medicine physician Robbins Gottlock, MD, has been named vice president and associate medical director at Phelps Hospital, reporting to Medical Director Tobe Banc, MD. In this position, Dr. Gottlock has supervisory responsibility for Phelps Medical Associates (the hospital’s multispecialty medical group) and other employed physicians, the NYMC Phelps Family Medicine Residency Program, clinical trials and research, education and clinical information technology.
Dr. Gottlock began his medical career in 2002 at Beth Israel Hospital (now Mount Sinai Beth Israel). While at Beth Israel, he earned an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business. In 2010, Dr. Gottlock left the medical field for two years to serve as a business consultant for the global Boston Consulting Group, handling clients that included pharmaceutical and biotech companies and health systems. He returned to Beth Israel in 2012, working as an internal consultant for senior administrators and seeing patients. When Beth Israel merged with Mount Sinai in 2014, Dr. Gottlock was asked to lead the hospital’s 100-physician outpatient multispecialty medical group.
A board-certified family medicine physician, Dr. Gottlock earned his medical degree at University of Utah School of Medicine and completed his family medicine residency at Swedish Family Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle. He has a special interest in providing healthcare for adolescents, adults and the LGBTQ community. In addition to his administrative responsibilities, he sees patients at the Phelps Medical Associates location at 362 North Broadway in Sleepy Hollow.
Dr. Gottlock resides in Sleepy Hollow.
