Dolan Family Health Center Recognized as a Patient Centered Medical Home

The Dolan Family Health Center was recently recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a Level Three Patient Centered Medical Home based on the most recent 2014 standards. NCQA cited research has shown that Patient Centered Medical Homes (PCMH) provide high quality care for their patients at lower costs.

Patient Centered Medical Homes have been shown to foster relationships between medical practitioners and patients in a more comprehensive, cohesive way than individual healthcare appointments. In the PCMH model, patient care is overseen by a clinician-led team that helps patients coordinate their care throughout the healthcare system.

“The Dolan Family Health Center provides high-quality, comprehensive primary care to the medically underserved in the Huntington community, facilitating entry into the healthcare system for individuals and families,” said Joseph Volavka, senior administrative director of the Dolan Family Health Center. “The recognition of the health center as a Patient Centered Medical Home endorses our commitment to that mission and we are very proud to have obtained the designation.”
