Dina Wong appointed deputy executive director at Staten Island University Hospital

Dina Wong is SIUH's new deputy executive director.

Dina Wong, MHSA, has been named deputy executive director of Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH) effective July 2017.

Ms. Wong’s 17-year experience at SIUH positions her for her new role on the senior leadership team in direct support of Donna Proske, the hospital’s executive director, leading the organization at a pivotal time in a challenging healthcare environment.

As SIUH associate executive director since 2008, Ms. Wong’s success in managing health information services, bed management and case management is underscored by her redesign in service resulting in a 30 percent reduction in 30-day readmission rates that represents a tremendous benefit for patients. Earlier in her career, she was administrator for the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) as well as of ambulatory oncology, radiation medicine, hospice, palliative care and physician practices.

Ms. Wong started her career at Staten Island University Hospital as an administrative resident in 2000, while completing her Masters in Health Services Administration from George Washington University.  Immediately upon graduation, she was assigned to the newly-opened cardiac catheterization lab responsible for the development of administrative processes.

She is currently a member of the hospital’s strategic planning and finance committees and leads the operating and capital budget reviews.
