Daniel Baker, MD, has been named associate medical director for Lenox Hill Hospital. In his new role, Dr. Baker will work in conjunction with associate medical director, Wakim Wakim, MD and in support of medical director, Jill Kalman, MD to provide strategic direction and quality control in alignment with the hospital’s mission, goals and values.
Dr. Baker will continue to serve as vice chairman of emergency medicine at Lenox Hill, a position he has held since 2013. He joined the hospital in 2007 as an attending emergency physician. For the past decade, he has served in leadership roles of progressive responsibility, including as associate medical director and co-interim chair of the emergency medicine department.
Dr. Baker earned his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ and his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. He recently graduated from the Northwell Health Physician Leadership Development Program and is currently pursuing an MBA at the New York University Stern School of Business.
In 2016, Dr. Baker was elected as a regional representative for the Northwell Health Physician Partners Board of Governors and was also appointed the physician lead liaison of Sunrise Emergency Care Development for the health system’s emergency medicine service line.
