RIVERHEAD, NY – The Peconic Bay Medical Center-Northwell Health Jamesport Triathlon will return to Jamesport for the second time on July 10, 2016. Known as the largest triathlon on the north fork of Long Island, the sprint-distance race is perfect for both beginners and seasoned veterans.
The event begins and finishes at South Jamesport Beach and features a 500-meter swim in the pristine Peconic Bay, a 16-mile bike through Long Island's wine country and ends with a 3.1-mile run through the local seaside Jamesport community.
“Last year we had 300 athletes register and participate and this year we are taking a maximum of 420 athletes. We want to grow this event slowly and safely," said Corey Byrne Roberts of Race Awesome, the organization hosting the event. "Currently, there are only 70 spots left until we sellout.”
