MANHASSET, NY – Northwell Health’s Neuroscience Institute has been named as the beneficiary of the Greater Long Island Running Club’s (GLIRC) Aspire 10K Run to take place on Saturday, April 2, 2016, 8:30am at the H.B. Mattlin Middle School in Plainview, NY.

“We are extremely grateful to the GLIRC for selecting Northwell Health’s Neuroscience Institute as the beneficiary of the Aspire 10K run,” said Raj K. Narayan, MD, the Institute’s director.  “Running participants should feel good knowing that the funds raised from the event will be going towards a good cause.  The money raised will help further the Institute’s commitment to offering our patients state-of-the-art treatments for the entire spectrum of neurological and neurosurgical disorders.”

This year’s Northwell Health Aspire 10K Run promises to be a rewarding experience for all participants.  The running course will go through the roads of Plainview and Old Bethpage, starting and finishing at the H.B. Mattlin Middle School. At this year’s race, for the first time, a special award will be given to the first male and female finishers who are residents of Plainview-Old Bethpage.

“We are thrilled to welcome Northwell Health as the new lead sponsor of Long Island’s oldest continuously held 10K run and we are equally thrilled to be able to use the Aspire 10K to help support Northwell Health’s Neuroscience Institute,” said Mike Polansky, GLIRC’s president.
