Ever-expanding Northwell Health has leased an additional 50,000 square feet of office space in Melville.
The Great Neck-based health system, formerly known as North Shore-LIJ, already occupied 20,000 square feet at 330 South Service Road and just signed on for 50,000 square feet more. Northwell will use the Melville space for administrative offices and plans to start moving employees in next month, according to a company spokesman.
By far the largest private occupier of office space on Long Island, Northwell now controls well over 1.5 million square feet here and is still growing. The health system is already the largest private employer in the state with more than 61,000 employees.
The new space for Northwell was last occupied by Verint Systems, which relocated to 49,000 square feet at 175 Broadhollow Road in November 2015. Bob Rosenbluth and Gerry Krush of Jericho-based Real Estate Strategies represented Verint in its new lease.
Northwell was self-represented in its expansion at 330 South Service Road and Craig Weiss was the in-house representative for landlord T. Weiss Realty.
