GREAT NECK, NY – Northwell Health has been named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies for the second consecutive year and the only hospital system recognized in New York by the Ethisphere Institute, the global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices.
The 2016 World’s Most Ethical Companies designation honors those organizations that have had a major impact on the way business is conducted by fostering a culture of ethics, compliance and transparency at every level of the company.
Being an honoree underscores Northwell Health’s commitment to leading ethical standards and practices ensuring long-term value to its patients, employees, suppliers, regulators, board members and others, said the Ethisphere Institute. Northwell Health is only one of seven hospitals or health systems nationwide to be honored this year.
“To be honored two years in a row by Ethisphere is a testament to the collective work that our entire organization performs in serving our patients and communities,” said Michael J. Dowling, president and chief executive officer of Northwell Health. “Our continued recognition as a World's Most Ethical Company is an achievement to celebrate, and serves as a reminder that we must always hold ourselves and each other to the highest ethical standards.”
Greg Radinsky, vice president and chief corporate compliance officer of Northwell Health, said, “We are truly honored to be counted among The World's Most Ethical Companies. The award recognizes Northwell Health’s core values of integrity, innovation and excellence which we strive to deliver every day to our patients and members.”
To compile the 2016 list of the World’s Most Ethical Companies, Ethisphere selected 130 winning-companies representing 54 industries from 21 countries across five continents. Companies were scored in five categories: ethics and compliance program, corporate citizenship and responsibility, culture of ethics, governance and leadership, innovation and reputation.
