GREAT NECK, NY – The North Shore-LIJ Health System today announced it has been named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s inaugural “100 Integrated Health Systems to Know” list.
The health system’s strong commitment to continued education through its wide range of courses for employees at every level at its Center for Learning and Innovation and clinical simulations at the Patient Safety Institute were among the aspects that set North Shore-LIJ apart and helped it to garner this designation. In addition, North Shore-LIJ was recognized for the collaboration of the health system and its physicians.
“The North Shore-LIJ Health System, with 16 hospitals and an array of physician practices, has been recognized for its seamless coordination of services to provide the best possible patient care,” said Mark Solazzo, North Shore-LIJ’s chief operating officer. “Patients at all of our facilities benefit from the vast resources and clinical expertise we have across the health system. And we keep honing our professionals’ skills through continued education.”
Becker’s Hospital Review’s editorial group picked the health systems for this designation based on rankings from IMS Health, a healthcare analytics firm. Also, Becker’s Hospital Review factored in each health system’s operational, clinical and financial statuses. The designation is given to health systems that are keenly focused on the patient care continuum with services such as hospice, outpatient care and urgent care.
