NEW YORK, NY -- The North Shore-LIJ Health System, New York State’s largest healthcare provider, today announced a partnership with Access Clinical Partners (ACP) to launch a new network of 50 urgent care centers across the New York metropolitan area over the next four years. The new facilities will be marketed and branded as North Shore-LIJ - GoHealth Urgent Care.
The first GoHealth locations will open in Forest Hills, Queens and Massapequa, Long Island this November followed by seven locations in first quarter 2015, and an additional six locations by the end of 2015. The remaining centers will open throughout Long Island, Staten Island, and Manhattan over the next few years, totaling 50 centers by 2018.
The North Shore-LIJ - GoHealth partnership will provide greater access to high-quality medical care. The co-branded GoHealth centers, backed by the strength of North Shore-LIJ’s network, will deliver an innovative healthcare experience combining the best of hospitality, design, seamless technology, and retail together in one urgent care destination. GoHealth is where people can access community-based medical care with concierge-level service that is connected to North Shore-LIJ’s world-class continuum of care.
The centers will complement North Shore-LIJ’s existing medical services with a convenient, community-based healthcare model. “GoHealth Urgent Care allows us to extend our clinical quality to more locations and deliver on our promise to bring new solutions to communities where our patients live and work,” says Michael J. Dowling, President and Chief Executive Officer of North Shore-LIJ.
GoHealth centers will be staffed with a team of physicians and medical providers who administer care consistent with North Shore-LIJ clinical standards, offering a valuable alternative to traditional hospital emergency room visits. "GoHealth's vision is to transform the way people access the healthcare system through an effortless experience, a culture of care, and seamless integration with North Shore-LIJ," says Si France, MD, CEO/Founder of GoHealth.
For those in need of immediate care, GoHealth centers are open seven days per week, with extended evening hours and no appointments needed. GoHealth centers are designed for a warm, patient-friendly experience that is ideal for both individuals and families. In addition to urgent care, GoHealth will provide on-site imaging, laboratory services, immunizations, sports physicals, and seasonal flu shots. For patients who require additional care, such as primary, specialty care or rehabilitative services, GoHealth provides service to help people access the care they need with complete medical records integration and referrals into North Shore-LIJ’s broader healthcare network.
GoHealth’s core values reflect that all New York area residents should have access to affordable, high-quality medical care. For this reason, GoHealth accepts most major medical insurances, including commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and workers’ compensation. GoHealth has also arranged affordable self-pay rates for those without health insurance to ensure that all patients are able to receive the highest level of medical care.
