North Shore-LIJ Expands Fertility Services to Suffolk County

HAUPPAUGE, NY – The North Shore-LIJ Medical Group announced today that its Center for Human Reproduction has expanded to Suffolk County with the addition of Gabriel San Roman, MD.

A reproductive endocrinologist, Dr. San Roman has been a fertility specialist in practice for more than 20 years in New York. He is certified with the National Board of Medical Examiners as well as the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in both the general specialty and the subspecialty of reproductive endocrinology and infertility.

In addition, Dr. San Roman is also a clinical associate professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive medicine at Hofstra University. He is the past president of the Suffolk Obstetrics and Gynecology Society and served as the chief of reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Winthrop University Hospital for the past 12 years.

Dr. San Roman is currently practicing in Hauppauge and will be moving to a state of the art new facility in Smithtown later this year, called the Center for Human Reproduction – Suffolk.

One of the top fertility centers in the US, North Shore-LIJ’s Center for Human Reproduction, headquartered at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY, treats patients for female and male infertility. Its treatments result in more than 700 pregnancies each year. It was established in 1976 as Long Island’s first fertility center.

“We are thrilled that Dr. San Roman is joining our staff, enabling North Shore-LIJ’s Center for Human Reproduction to expand our services into Suffolk County,” said Avner Hershlag, MD, the center’s chief. “Thousands of couples have benefitted from his enormous expertise as one of the top reproductive endocrinologists in New York.”

In addition to its Manhasset headquarters, the Center for Human Reproduction has offices in Garden City, Flushing, Forest Hills and Manhattan.
