GREAT NECK, NY -- North Shore-LIJ Health System announced today that it will be a multi-year Main Stage sponsor of The John W. Engeman Theater in Northport. The announcement was made in conjunction with Bethpage Federal Credit Union, which will be a multi-year sponsor of the theater’s youth programming. North Shore-LIJ’s sponsorship runs for three years and coincides with the launch of the 2012-2013 Main Stage season -- which begins today with “I Love You You’re Perfect, Now Change.”
"The John W. Engeman Theater and the arts in general strengthen our communities by playing an important role in enhancing the quality of life for Long Islanders and Long Island families," said North Shore-LIJ President and CEO Michael Dowling.
The 2012-2013 Main Stage Season boasts a delightful mix of musicals, comedy and drama. With the North Shore-LIJ sponsorship, the John W. Engeman Theater will be able to continue to bring Broadway to Main Street supporting the Performing Arts on Long Island.
Kevin J. O’Neill, owner and managing director of the John W. Engeman Theater said, “We are excited to announce North Shore-LIJ Health System as our Main Stage Sponsor. North Shore-LIJ is an organization that touches so many lives on a daily basis and we are very proud to be recognized by them. The sponsorship will make it possible for the Theater to expand its Community Give Back program that already helps fund over 100 not-for-profit organizations on Long Island. We thank North Shore-LIJ for their support and confidence.”
A portion of tickets for the theater’s next run of “I Love You, You’re Perfect Now Change” will go to support the work of Cohen Children’s Medical Center – which the U.S. News & World Report ranked as one of the top pediatric hospitals in the nation.
"We encourage everyone to take in a night at the Engeman Theater from July 5th to August 19th and to purchase their tickets with the codes NSLIJ or Bethpage so that their entertainment dollar goes even further by supporting Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York,” Mr. Dowling said. “We are proud to work with like-minded organizations such as the Engeman Theater and Bethpage Federal Credit Union to improve our communities. We look forward to being the Main Stage sponsor for the next three years."
