The North Shore-LIJ Health System announced today that it has expanded its patients’ access to internal medicine care across the New York metropolitan area by acquiring Nassau Queens Pulmonary in New Hyde Park, South Shore Internal Medicine in Lynbrook, Western Suffolk Gastroenterology in Bay Shore and Northern Pulmonary in Bayside, Queens.
The Nassau Queens Pulmonary practice at 3003 New Hyde Park Road, Suite 303 in New Hyde Park, offers medical services related to pulmonary diseases, critical care medicine, sleep disorders, sports-related respiratory disorders and internal medicine. The practice, which was started in 1989, has four board-certified physicians, a nurse practitioner and a licensed respiratory therapist. Physicians are available Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nassau Queens Pulmonary’s physicians are available outside of office hours through the practice’s answering service.
South Shore Internal Medicine is a multi-specialty practice specializing in cardiology, pulmonary, general internal medicine and gastrointestinal services for its patients since it was established more than 40 years ago. All of the practice’s radiological services, such as CT scans, are done by Franklin Hospital and patients typically receive quick results. In addition, the practice, located at 158 Hempstead Avenue in Lynbrook, is open seven days a week.
Specializing in areas such as inflammatory bowel disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease and colon cancer screenings, the Western Suffolk Gastroenterology practice at 375 East Main Street, Suite 21in Bay Shore features seven board-certified gastroenterologists. The practice was started in 1974 and offers services including both gastroenterology and hepatology consultation as well as nutritional counseling with an on-site certified dietitian. These physicians are available outside of the office’s Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. office hours through an answering service.
The Northern Pulmonary medical practice in Queens includes three pulmonologists/internists who specialize in treating patients with pulmonary problems including asthma, COPD and lung cancer as well as those requiring critical care services. The practice, at 58-06 Francis Lewis Blvd. in Bayside, is open Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
