NEW HYDE PARK, NY – Long Island Jewish Medical Center, a member of Northwell Health, has been named a 2016 Women’s Choice Award winner as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics and Cancer Care.
The New Hyde Park hospital is one of 432 hospitals nationwide and 12 in New York State to qualify for the evidence-based designation for obstetrics, signifying a commitment to meeting the highest standards in maternity services. It is also one of 365 hospitals nationwide and 11 in the state to earn this award for cancer care.
This distinction identifies the country’s best healthcare institutions based on clinical performance, as well as criteria that examines female patient satisfaction and what women say they want from a hospital including: quality physician communications and responsiveness from nurses and support staff.
