BAY SHORE, NY – Northwell Health today announced several new appointments aimed at bolstering the leadership of its Eastern Region, which consists of: Glen Cove, Syosset, Plainview, South Oaks, Huntington and Southside hospitals, as well as Peconic Bay Medical Center.
Kevin Beiner, previously deputy regional executive director of the health system’s Western region in Manhattan, has been named senior vice president and deputy regional executive director of the Eastern region. He reports to Winnie Mack, RN, senior vice president and executive director of the Eastern region.
As part of an effort to better coordinate clinical care and share best medical practices throughout the region, Northwell has appointed Jay Enden, MD, the long-time medical director of Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, as medical director of the Eastern region. Robert Scanlon, MD, previously associate chief medical officer at Southside Hospital, will succeed Dr. Enden as medical director at Southside.
Lenny Nartowicz, previously associate executive director of finance at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, has been named executive director of The Long Island Home, which operates South Oaks Hospital and Broadlawn Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Amityville. He will succeed Patricia Porter, who will be retiring later this year. Ms. Porter has worked at Long Island Home since 1996 in numerous roles -- chief administrative officer, chief financial officer, chief operations officer and, for the past 1 ½ years, as executive director. Under her leadership, The Long Island Home has continued to successfully integrate into Northwell Health in a seamless and effective manner.
“Our ability to be agile and adaptable to changing circumstances has enabled us to provide exceptional care to the communities we serve,” said Ms. Mack. “As we look forward, a cornerstone of this strategy is identifying and developing internal talent with the potential to fill key leadership positions in our organization.”
