HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley, which operates Kingston's two hospitals, has been in partnership talks with downstate hospitals, according to the Daily Freeman. David Scarpino, president and chief executive of HealthAlliance, told an Ulster County Regional Chamber of Commerce audience yesterday that he has had partnership talks with Westchester Medical Center, North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System and Montefiore Medical Center, as well as with HealthQuest, Albany Medical Center and St. Peter's Health Care Services. A NS-LIJ spokesman confirmed the system had "an exploratory meeting with [HealthAlliance] on May 14 in Manhattan," but has not yet made a decision on whether to pursue a deal.
