While all North Shore-LIJ Health System hospitals will remain operational during the blizzard, all inpatient and outpatient elective surgeries scheduled for Tuesday have been cancelled across the health system. To comply with Governor Andrew Cuomo’s declaration of a state of emergency, North Shore-LIJ is closing all ambulatory and corporate offices on Tuesday. The health system anticipates being able to resume normal operations on Wednesday at all of its sites.

“As the largest healthcare provider in the region, it’s our collective responsibility to make sure our patients – and the community-at-large – can count on us to keep them safe and well. To that end, it’s critical that we keep our facilities staffed appropriately to support patient care,” said Michael J. Dowling, North Shore-LIJ’s president and chief executive officer.
