MANHASSET, NY – Professional golf player Jim Furyk took a break from the 2012 PGA Tour to help raise funds for the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York and the Children’s Miracle Network. Mr. Furyk, the 2010 FedEx Cup Champion and 2010 PGA Tour Player of the Year, is very involved with the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and created Miracle Birdies, a campaign to raise funds the network. Donors contributed over $69,000 in support of children’s hospitals each time Mr. Furyk hit a birdie during the 2011 season, and were invited to play the course with him at Deepdale Golf Club, in Manhasset. Participants included North Shore-LIJ Health System president and chief executive officer, Michael Dowling, and senior vice president and chief development officer Kevin Dwyer. The Miracle Birdies charity will continue in 2012.
