Freelancers Union, CareConnect Deal

The Freelancers Union announced a partnership with CareConnect that will allow the organization's 300,000 members access to certain plans

through a tab on the Freelancers Union website. The plans were selected to meet the needs of people who work gig to gig, Sara Horowitz,

founder and executive director of the Freelancers Union, said in a statement. "Freelancers want quality, portable health insurance but are

uniquely sensitive to rising health care costs," she said. Freelancers Union stopped selling its own insurance in 2014 but hasn't gotten out of the

game entirely. The partnership with CareConnect is an expansion of the Freelancers Union's National Benefits Platform, launched in 2014,

which allows members to search health, dental, disability and other types of insurance.
