VALLEY STREAM, NY – The North Shore-LIJ Health System today announced the appointment of Catherine Hottendorf, RN, as executive director of Franklin Hospital, where she is responsible for the hospital’s finances, operations, quality, staff performance and patient satisfaction, as well as day-to-day administration. She returns to Franklin as executive director after serving there as associate executive director of patient care services when she joined North Shore-LIJ in 2002.
Ms. Hottendorf comes to Franklin from Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where she served as associate executive director of patient care services and chief nursing officer, responsible for clinical nursing, physical therapy and cardiac services.
Before joining North Shore-LIJ, Ms. Hottendorf was the director of finance for OR services at Continuum Health System in Manhattan, as well as the director of managed care at Generations+/Northern Manhattan Network, New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation. She also worked at the Nassau University Medical Center and A. Holly Patterson Geriatric Center for more than 20 years.
She has a bachelor’s degree in nursing and master’s degree in community health from Long Island University as well as an MBA in management from Adelphi University.
Ms. Hottendorf succeeds Joseph Manopella, who has been named vice president of regional strategy and business development for North Shore-LIJ’s Physician and Ambulatory Network Services. Mr. Manopella had served as Franklin’s executive director since July 2009, after serving previously as the hospital’s deputy executive director and associate executive director of ancillary and support services, and as the operations director and the director of cardiac services at LIJ Medical Center. He has a bachelor’s degree from Stony Brook University and an MBA in healthcare administration from Baruch College/Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
