Advances in breast cancer treatment have made more tissue-sparing procedures possible. Still, some breast cancer patients may need a mastectomy (removal of the breast[s]). Breast cancer reconstruction surgically rebuilds breasts for women who have had one or both breasts removed due to cancer.
Various types of techniques are available. It helps for patients to understand their options prior to breast removal.
Join us for Lunch and Learn: Breast Cancer Reconstruction Support and Education this Wednesday, October 15, from noon to 1 p.m. My colleagues and I will discuss post-mastectomy options and your insurance coverage rights. The Monter Cancer Center at 450 Lakeville Road in Lake Success, NY 11042 will host the event.
