As acting medical director of Orzac Center for Rehabilitation, Ralph Iorio, MD, is responsible for the quality of care at the nationally recognized facility.

Throughout his career — which includes 30 years of private practice in Woodmere, NY — Dr. Iorio has navigated many changes to the health care field. He’s treated patients at Long Island Jewish Valley Stream since 1992 and joined Orzac in 2006.  

Prior to Orzac, Dr. Iorio served in various roles at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, including physician advisor for quality assurance, resident clinic supervisor, attending and service attending physician. He’s a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the Zucker School of Medicine and preceptor of the school’s Initial Clinical Experience program, mentoring first and second-year medical students.

Dr. Iorio, a member of the American College of Physicians, holds a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Siena, Italy. He completed a residency in internal medicine and subsequently became chief resident at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital.
