Howard Guzik, MD
As the physician leader of the Stern Family Center for Rehabilitation, Howard J. Guzik, MD, is focused on delivering the highest quality of care to patients at the center, North Shore University Hospital and outpatient facilities. In 2013, he was appointed as Northwell’s senior medical director for Skilled Nursing Facility Services.
Dr. Guzik joined Northwell in 1989. From 2001-2013 he served as chief of the combined Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at North Shore University Hospital and LIJ Medical Center. He is also an associate professor of medicine at the Zucker School of Medicine.
During the last 25 years, Dr. Guzik has been involved with medical student and resident education in geriatric and palliative medicine at North Shore University Hospital and he helped create the geriatric portion of the residency curriculum. From 1992-2008, he served as program director of the North Shore University Hospital Geriatric Medicine Fellowship.
A 1981 graduate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Guzik completed a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Geriatrics at the Montefiore Medical Center. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics and Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
