Adeil Fleischer, MD, oversees clinical operations for both obstetrics and gynecology at North Shore University Hospital and LIJ Medical Center. In addition, he is involved in the development of women’s health services, including those at the Katz Women’s Hospitals.

Dr. Fleischer serves as chair of the Perinatal Safety Task Force for Northwell and is a member of the New York State Committee on Maternal Mortality Task Force and the state’s Perinatal Task Force for reducing the incidence of iatrogenic prematurity. He has led national committees on maternal mortality, as well as developed and implemented several regional initiatives on patient safety. He oversees the continued New York State designations for North Shore and LIJ as Regional Perinatal Centers. 

Dr. Fleischer, chair of obstetrics and gynecology at Zucker School of Medicine, is the author of numerous publications relating to improvements in perinatal care and safety. He has been recognized regionally and nationally as one of the best clinicians in maternal-fetal medicine.

Dr. Fleischer received his medical degree from the University of Romania Medical School. He completed his internship in pediatrics at North Shore University Hospital, his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Maimonides Medical Center and a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine/perinatology, obstetrics and gynecology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
